Who am I? Some time ago, it matters not how long, I began writing. I wrote about friendship and what it is to have a friend that you can talk to about the simplest or most complex of things with total trust, honesty and without judgement. That I am a man and my friendship is with a woman other than my wife may raise a few eyebrows in those that would choose to imagine otherwise, yet I can assure you it is very possible. My wife is a wonderful person and she is my first friend. She is also my truest love. At the same time as I, she has formed a friendship with my friend as well and can testify that it is possible to see beyond the expectations or beliefs so often cast by society that knows life only as grown ups do. That with respect for one another and the relationships held true, anything is possible, maybe even unique. Like children we hold no expectations of what the friendship we have is except that it is what it is, and that it remains strong. With pure and true intent you too can find what I am lucky to have found.
The Long Run
It has been a long while since my last post. Illness and many causes have seen my time taken up and I have put all my energy into getting things right and making sure that I can last the distance that this journey is taking me.
Over the last few years I have met many people who are working very hard to create a better world. Most of those, like myself are very passionate about what they are doing and they invest a lot of time and in some cases money, in giving their all for very little personal return. To me, those people make no excuses and they clearly fight the fight, talk the talk, and walk the walk. Then there are what I call the imposters. The people who tell you that they stand for all sorts of things, but do nothing unless they get something from it, and in some cases it is more than just personal satisfaction that I am talking about. For these people, being the centre of attention drives what they do. They crave inwardly and sometimes outwardly the desire to be recognised. For them, just doing something for the good of doing it is not enough. They are driven by a different thought process and whilst they share the same ideals, they remain quiet when it suits their needs, or when it may hurt their public image.
The reason I raise this, is that there are a lot of causes across the globe, and they all need fighting for. I will continue to spread myself to deal with as many as I can because I believe every one of them is important, if not to me, then someone else who wants support. I thank everyone who lends their support, including those who seek personal gain, however all I ask is that people park their egos at the door and realise that sometimes it is not about who hears ‘you’, but who hears the message that you are sending.
The world is a wonderful and precious place. Let’s start saving it at all costs.
Dare To Change The World.
