Hello to all those that follow my blog.
Today I began day two of a holiday upon which I have a list of items to film and share with you. I have very quickly put together a short amount of footage that captures the grace and majesty of one of my favourite creatures in the ocean. The Manta.
That humans kill these to collect and sell the gills is in my opinion a disgrace. They are the most majestic of creatures and they deserve the utmost respect. As I plunged into the water after completing my backroll, my heart skipped a beat as I watched a Manta glide below me, and at that point a dream was almost realised. As I found a spot on the ocean floor in a mere ten metres of water, I proceeded to watch as these creatures gracefully twisted and turned, all along being cleaned by the numerous small wrasse that waited patiently for each Manta to arrive, and in some instances stop, ever so lightly flapping the huge wings to remain in one place amongst the current as they were tended to, like a car at a full service petrol station.
Tomorrow, I hope to see much more, but my apprehension, my fear that it may not happen has eased, so now I shall enjoy this, and the arrival of other creatures.
For now, enjoy this small piece that showcases today, and what beautiful creatures they are.
